John is offering an option for a leadership change on Kauai. It is well focused and measurable. It does not appear that an educated electorate is casting votes. The two major parties have become split due to the diverse nationalities of Kauai. This has allowed the nationality with the best voter turn out to seat or keep their candidate despite party.

With divisive issues like the Superferry, the voting culture can quickly change. Especially as more mainlanders become residents and bring their money to the election process. They will be focused on candidates making it easier for them to buy up and build on the land to deepen their financial pockets. What John is offering is a way for us to be successful or go down fighting instead of standing and watching, as our finite island is lost to greed.

I love this idea! I think all of those issues are priority. A couple of issues to consider also would be enforcing our Vacation Rental Laws, No fly zones for commercial aircraft such as the big island has now, Reforming and replacing our current D.L.N.R. offices and officers, so that real agriculture assessment can be done. I estimate at least 80% of agriculture zoned properties would not pass an agriculture inspection from a Big Island officer. On the Big Island, every bannana tree is counted and taxed! I think that Kauai could benefit most from lessening our food imports, and relying on our own island's fertile landscape.
